Authentic Stories from Diners
We were a party of 7 and a small dog, there for Sunday lunch. We were seated in a room off the main dining room which was very accommodating. Service was prompt and efficient even though the place was busy. Roast beef was excellent, the Chicken wrapped around stuffing also delicious. Desserts were lovely. Reasonable price at £40 per head, then we were off over the dunes for an hour to walk off the Tiramisu Cheesecake. Lovely place, highly recommended.
The food here is pretty amazing. Had dinner with my family today. Although they had sold out of the roast beef by 2pm it's just an indication of how good it is. Had the beed Wellington roast instead and it was luxurious. Beautiful flavours, well prepared, great ingredients. The staff are friendly and welcoming..Highly recommend this establishment.
Bad night, poor food, grotty pub. AVOID. All of the food ordered for a party of 7 was below expectations unfortunately. Wouldn’t recommend. Burgers all very greasy and wet, not cooked on a griddle so oozing with oil which didn’t taste like a usual wagyu smash. The chicken was dry and tasteless and covered in undercooked fatty breadcrumbs. Too much salad, hidden under the sliced up escalope. The cauliflower starter looked amazing, but sadly it was very al-dente and the batter was extremely oily. The squid starter had such a tiny portion it was almost pointless. The loaded fries were hardly loaded, putting a sprinkle of cheese on top doesn’t mean you can charge £10 for them. Didn’t order desert. Won’t return. Many other places in southwold worthy of your pennies. Avoid this place, it’s overpriced cheap pub grub.
Had a takeaway from here on a Saturday night. Was very swift service. Menu is amazing and had a lot of recommendations to eat here. Had 2 boxes of loaded fries. Very quick service, great generous portions and the food was delicious! Really lovely location especially if dining in.
We went here for a meal this week, lovely welcome, great food and great service. Thai Fishcake which I had a starter was so tasty as was the venison burger. My sister had a masala chickpea burger which she said was lovely. We didn’t want to miss out on sweets and the owners kindly put them into a carton for takeaway, so kind and so nicely done! We want to go back this week.
