Authentic Stories from Diners
Another delicious meal at the Sutherland, it never disappoints. Change of menu and totally spoilt the Goats cheese tart was so delicious then for my main trout. My husband had the monkfish wellington which looked amazing and enjoyed it very much.
Loved our stay at Sutherland House - such a great building and brilliant location. We visited the last weekend of Nov to celebrate our wedding anniversary as well as the Xmas lights switch on. We had the small double which was adequate for our two nights, the bathroom with the freestanding bath more than makes up for the size of the bedroom! Dinner in the restaurant on Saturday night was delicious plus we had brilliant service from start to end. Looking forward to coming back again next year!
Yet again we had a lovely experience here in the lovely John Sutherland suite with super bathroom. Gorgeous meal with lovely starters and mains and deserts. And the best white Rioja ever at a great price. Nothing is too much trouble for Andy and his team. And right in the centre of Southwold is a real plus. Thanks again Karen and Tomas
The room was fantastic. We had the suite and it was exactly as described. Stairs very steep, so don't choose if that's a problem for you. Rooftop view of lighthouse one way and nice view of church from the bedroom. Bathroom excellent. I would probably not have breakfast next time. Hosts are great, and the quality of food good, but I guess I prefer a buffet style.
Very much a restaurant with rooms rather than the other way round. The rooms are really nice with modern fittings, high quality bathrooms and seating areas in some rooms. Ours was lovely. There isn’t anywhere to relax outside the rooms once you’ve left the restaurant. The food in the restaurant is top class. We all had different meals and no one was disappointed. (The mackerel scotch egg was fabulous.) Parking is limited but there is short stay at the rear and long stay a short walk away. Lovely place, lovely family. Highly recommended.
