Authentic Stories from Diners
Sunday lunch pre-booked reservation, waited 50 minutes from ordering, then chased staff for our orders, food then served within 2 minutes but was cold. One shrivelled carrot and little else in the way of veg. Beef was very 'fatty' Not what we expected for a £21.00 Roast.
Went with friends for Sunday lunch. Always looking for different places to eat locally and this was recommended. Table booked for 2pm, over 30 mins, to take drinks order, hour for mains. One of our party asked if he wanted his soup served with his main ! My squid, totally overcooked so sent back. Mains, pork tough, no crackling, no apple sauce offered. Beef was almost raw, sent back to be cooked further (then very tender) again no horse radish offered. Had to ask for new cutlery for second course. Overall my perception was they were understaffed but had still booked as many covers as they could. We did have other tables round us asking how long we had waited as they were waiting. They did give a reduction on the bill, but we won’t be back as too many other lovely places to eat locally.
Hidden gem! Absolutely lovely food, a fantastic atmosphere, and such friendly staff.
Really nice Sunday lunch here today. The menu on a Sunday is small and that’s a good thing - Really bored of pages of descriptions of food when all you really want is a nice roast! There were vegan options but I plumped for the roast beef served with carrots, red cabbage, Yorkie, lovely gravy, roasties and cauli cheese. For pudding I had the sticky toffee one which was more of a date pudding than anything else but still OK and served with ice cream. All in all a lovely meal served in nice surroundings.
The paella the most tasteless one I ever tried. This was a rice with some prawn but nothing all about The Paella. It was basically rice without salt, seasoning and the typical flavour of a Paella. This dish also cost too expensive for what it is. This dish cost around 21£ for two people. I would prefer to pay a bit more but enjoying what I buy. It was totally disappointing, however the service was great. Sorry guys on this time for this rating. We were so excited as soon as we saw you had Paella on the menu.
