Authentic Stories from Diners
We went on a Sunday afternoon and had 2 roast dinners that was absolutely beautiful, big portions. Then we had Eaton mess that was light and fluffy, delicious. There was a soul singer providing outstanding entertainment. Everyone was up dancing and the atmosphere was fun and lively either way a friendly crowd. Would definitely recommend this place. The staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for you
The location of the restaurant is good. Situated in the waterfront, the 1st floor tables near to the window give a nice view of the marina. It was quiet when I visited, so the atmosphere in the restaurant was limited, although I can imagine that when it is busy, the dining room would be a lively place to eat. The decor is nice, and a good place to eat for couples of larger groups. The food was reasonable for the prices charged. For focaccia to share, bottle of house wine, two steaks (see pictures) and a cheeseboard (see pictures) to share, the bill was £104. The steak tasted good, and was served as asked for (rare). The cheeseboard was a bit lacklustre, with a small amount of blue cheese and the rest cheddar and camembert. Downstairs is a bar which is quite nice and quiet, and some outdoor seating is available which is pleasant on a warm day or evening. Toilets are clean and modern.
Smashing eaterie on the dockside in Ipswich. We had the lamb croquette and scallops to start and aubergine katsu and sirloin steak for mains, all very good. Brownie and Amaretto and orange cake to complete the meal. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff and terrific location.
Without doubt the best cooked 10oz Ribeye Steak I’ve ever tasted. Cooked to perfection, medium rare, the flavour was simply delicious. The chunky chips that came with it were excellent. Staff were very polite and the whole evening was simply perfect. We highly recommend The Waterfront and will definitely be returning very soon. Thanks so much for making our evening.
Perfect spot and lovely views accompanied by some very Nice food. Highly recommend. Ask for dining upstairs which offers lovely views over the harbour. All 4 of us enjoyed our fish & chips and chicken and chorizo. Very good selection of wines as well.
