Authentic Stories from Diners
We recently went to The Deben Seal in Woodbridge and had such a lovely time. The atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming, and it just feels like a nice place to properly enjoy a meal. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, but what really stood out was the service. Kari and Emily were brilliant from the moment we arrived. They were so friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. They checked in at just the right times and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. They both knew the menu really well and were happy to chat through recommendations, which we really appreciated. It’s always such a difference when you’re looked after by people who clearly enjoy what they do. We left feeling really well looked after and will definitely be back. Huge thanks to Kari and Emily for making it such a great experience!
Monica was our server and she was amazing. so friendly, most helpful and provided us with AMAZING food recommendations. Have been before and will definitely be coming again. all staff were so friendly and accommodating
Four of us ate at Ego last night, the first time we’d visited the restaurant since it opened last year. It was incredibly busy, which impacted the wait times between courses, but this was more than made up for by the excellent food and friendly service from our waitress Kirsty. The new Saturday Supper Club menu was great value at £30 for three courses per person, especially as there was so much to choose from. I had the gambas pil pil, followed by the Greek-style lamb and lemon tart with raspberry sorbet. Everything was well presented, cooked beautifully and piping hot. There were some really lovely flavours throughout. It may be a chain, but that wouldn’t stop me eating here again by any means, and it’s a vast improvement on the Duke of York where we had some disappointing meals in the past.
We were a group of 10 celebrating my birthday. I had the cod with mussels and it was excellent. My friends and family all enjoyed their meals. However I was disappointed with my starter of Coquilles St Jacques. Considering these are available in supermarkets (at half the price) I found the portion very small in comparison. I cannot fault the quality of the food and everyone agreed. 9/10
I had such a great experience at Ego in Woodbridge! The food was absolutely awesome – full of flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. Mike, the manager, also checked in to see how we were doing, which really showed the team’s dedication to making guests feel welcome. Highly recommend this place – can’t wait to come back!
