Really disappointing. Sat down at a vacant table only to have an aggressive middle aged woman bark at us "it's reserved". I asked her to clarify and she pointed to a small sign two tables away so we moved to another table. We should have walked out at this point. Food & drinks were ordered (coffee was quite good) from another grumpy & mumbly middle aged woman which was eventually brought to us by a third haughty middle aged woman. The food was passable but incredibly small portions. £17 for what seemed to be a child's breakfast for one of our group and £4 for a miniature serving of oven chips for another. Ridiculous. If the staff had been anything approaching friendly or the food had been delicious or of grown-up portion size or reasonable value then they might have got returning customers but nope, they managed to alienate everyone in our group. Top work.
Stopped here for sometging to eat after seeing a performance at the Spa Pavillion. The Moule Marinere was very nice, and served with chips. £18 per portion which is as expected these days and in line with comparible places. Orders taken at the counter and food brought to table. Very friendly and efficient service, and the quality of food is good. This place is popular with dog walkers and seafront strollers every day, at all times of the year and is a well known fixture on the Felixstowe sea front.
Lovely cafe overlooking the gardens and sea. We just had coffee and slice of cake which were both really nice. Lovely atmosphere too 😊
We visited The Alex bar on several occasions during our stay in Felixstowe once for breakfast, once late afternoon for bar snacks and drinks and a few times late evening for cocktails. Very friendly staff and the most amazing cocktails. I especially loved the cherry daiquiri and my partner loved the pineapple and jalapeño margarita. The Alex bar is very highly recommended.
Great little place to eat overlooking the sea, food was amazing.... little pricey, as you would expect on the seafront....But worth it. Definitely will be coming again. Highly recommend
