Superb high end Spanish experience. Fun communal counter seating, very good authentic yet creative food based on the chef’s heritage, paired with some exceptional wines including top options by the glass. 5 star service too. Must visit!

Very well presented Chefs Table style dining surrounding the cooking area and central plating up area providing great theatre. The restaurant serves seasonal Spanish influenced dishes only as a tasting menu. Food had imaginative flavour combinations, top quality ingredients and was perfectly cooked. Staff very attentive and have an exceptional knowledge of both the food served and also the wine pairings from their very interesting wine list. A real gem in the heart of Bury St Edmunds.

We went to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. What an absolute experience, the food, the concept, the seating, the innovation are exceptional. Food all prepared and served by the chefs, the same dishes to all guests. Lovely wine selection and the strangest sounding soft drinks, Olive lemonade was tried and enjoyed! We loved it and can only recommend to all foodies!

We came here to celebrate a family birthday, and what a lovely experience from start to end. The chef and staff could not have been more accommodating about an allergy for one party member, despite it being our fault in miscommunication about said allergy - they very very kindly sorted it all out in the background, making swaps where needed when it was our mistake in the first place. And then - the food itself. This is mainly about the ingredients and their quality, then say - crazy flavour combinations. We all particularly enjoyed the fish course - that sweet shrimp! Delightful. And being a family of non sweet tooth / dessert people, a shout-out to the imagination of the sweet course with apricots, pistachio, and Thai curry paste ice cream. Note that this is an open kitchen concept - the cap on guest numbers helped avoid anything getting too loud, but part of the enjoyment for us was seeing the staff in action and creating the dishes one by one in some careful dance between one another. Service is attentive and good humoured. Nothing felt too rushed. A lovely experience, and one we would highly recommend.

Belotta is something genuinely special. I had the fixed menu in the evening and loved every moment of it. One of the best meals I had in a very long time! You’re not just close to the kitchen - you’re right there, seated around it, watching the team expertly prepare each dish while chatting with them throughout the meal. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance: lively and full of conversation, both with the chefs and between guests, but never chaotic, loud or rushed. It feels effortless, which works because the whole team is so clearly in tune and so welcoming. The dishes were beautifully prepared and full of flavour - everything was satisfying and well judged. My favourite was the Pork Secreto but all of them were amazing. Very, very good cooking with care and a sense of fun. You can see the the chefs and the guests genuinely enjoy it. It’s the kind of place you immediately want to tell friends about. I had an exceptional evening and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys great food, great people, and an experience that feels both polished and personal. I’ll be back soon.
