Nice place for a drink, but avoid the food. Was served the most revolting 50p gnocchi from co-op floating in some sauce that once saw a mushroom and some strands of frozen spinach. I hardly ate any and complained about it, they still made us pay the £17 menu price. Unbelievable. Leaving 2 stars because the staff was nice, the food deserved 0.
Great little hidden away pub but always popular so get there early if you want a table. I had the most amazing chicken nuggets, not something I thought I'd ever say in a review, but chunks of proper chicken in a crunchy crumb. Super dig friendly, and had a lovely roaring fire when I visited in December.
The Cross Keys is a charming little pub tucked away on Aldeburgh High Street. It’s small, with limited indoor seating, but that just adds to its cosy appeal. The big open fire is a real highlight and makes it especially welcoming on colder days. At Christmas, the pub has a wonderfully warm and festive feel. The mulled wine is excellent – rich, warming, and perfect for soaking up the atmosphere. A lovely spot to stop for a drink and enjoy the character of Aldeburgh.
This pub is in a beautiful location with lots around walking distance. The building is so cosy with lots of original features. We loved the wooden beams and having breakfast in the pub in the morning by the fire - perfect for a cosy winter stay!
Such a charming pub. Great food, beer and wine, that’s a must! What was so charming were the staff, all of whom came and sat and had a chat and made a fuss of our two spaniels - how nice is that? Is that not what we have lost in our traditional pubs? Made it such a nice evening - thank you!
