Ownership of "English" or "British" and even "European" Holiday Accommodation Agencies
Some of the best-known "English," British, or European holiday accommodation websites are now subsidiaries of an American company.
Their websites are operated by Holiday Cottages Group Limited of Spring Mill, Earby, Barnoldswick, Lancashire. That fact is clearly indicated at the foot of the pages on their many subsidiary companies' websites.
What is not always obvious, is that Holiday Cottages Group Limited is a subsidiary of
Wyndham Worldwide Corporation of 1 Sylvan Way, Parsippany, New Jersey, USA.
There's nothing wrong with that, of course, but you might prefer to know whether you're dealing with a small, independent, local company, or you're booking with a global corporation. Wyndham Worldwide Corporation owns these companies - as listed on their website in August 2008, and updated by Google searches on their Barnoldswick address:
