Just a short walk will bring you to the beach and High Street where you will find an eclectic mix of shops, high quality restaurants, traditional public houses, art galleries, independent cinema and even an award winning fish and chip shop. Picturesquely set on the East Suffolk Heritage Coast, Aldeburgh is best known for its connections with the composer Benjamin Britten. The annual acclaimed Arts and Music Festival is staged at the nearby Snape Maltings Concert Hall attracting many famous names and visitors.

Aldeburgh appeals to all age groups, there is a thriving sailing community, two local golf courses, tennis courts and a cookery school as well as the popular Aldeburgh Carnival held every year in August. Venturing further afield the delights of the Heritage Coast are all within easy reach, most notably: Southwold, home to the Adnams Brewery, working lighthouse, Art Deco pier and super sandy beaches, Woodbridge, a beautiful historic market town situated on the river Deben, Orford with its 12th century castle and oyster, Thorpeness Mere and boating lake, Dunwich, Walberswick and the RSPB nature reserve at Minsmere.
